விவசாய முறை — Complete Step by Step

  1. Best Planting Time

    📅 Sep–Oct for Nov–Dec peak-price harvest

Hills: Jun–Sep. Second crop: Jan–Feb for Mar–Apr harvest. Timing directly decides your profit.

  2. Soil & Bed Prep

🌍 Sandy loam, pH 6.0–7.0, rich FYM

Plough 20–25cm, add 8–10T FYM/acre, raised beds 1m wide, 50kg SSP basal. Test and correct pH before planting.

  3. Nursery

    🌱 25–30 days before transplanting

    150–200g seed/acre, Thiram-treated. Harden seedlings 5 days before transplanting.

  4. Transplanting

    🌿 60cm × 45cm spacing, evening only

Water immediately, mulch between rows, apply Carbofuran in planting holes for cutworm/nematode protection.

  5. Watering

💧 Never let soil dry at curd stages

Daily for first week, then every 3–4 days. Drip preferred. Stop 5 days before harvest for firmer curd.

  6. Fertiliser

🌿 Boron is the critical micronutrient

Basal + Day 20/35/50 splits. Boron spray 2g/L at curd formation prevents hollow stem and browning.

  7. Blanching

🌸 The single biggest quality lever

Tie outer leaves over the curd at 5–7cm size, re-check every 3 days. Unblanched curds lose 30–50% value.

Cauliflower Farming Tips — Key to Success

🌸

Always Blanch

Tie leaves over the curd at 5cm size. Unblanched curds sell for 40% less.

⚗️

Never Skip Boron

A ₹200 spray at curd initiation prevents ₹20,000 in quality losses.

📅

Time for Peak Price

Plant October, harvest Dec–Jan at ₹30–50/kg — avoid the March–April price crash.

❄️

Harvest Early Morning

Cool-hour harvest extends shelf life by 2–3 days. Shade curds immediately.

🏨

Sell Direct to Hotels

Hotels pay ₹25–35/kg vs ₹15–20 at mandi — offer weekly regular supply.

🌿

Intercrop Coriander

Repels aphids naturally and adds ₹5,000–8,000/acre from the same land.
